DEEPEST APPRECIATION

Thanx to National Speed Sport News, Dave Argabright, Ken Cormack,
Steve Hardin and several other outstanding members of our auto racing
fraternity our mailbox has been jammed for the last two weeks with cards
and letters from all over the world offering their best wishes for a
speedy recovery from my massive stomach surgery.
My wife Louise and I have received letters from racing individuals
from my forty years on the microphone from all over the world. From
England, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and most all of our own fifty
states. We most deeply appreciate each and every one of you that has
made us truly feel a part of this huge auto racing family.
After much discussion between my wife and I, we have decided that it
is best to be honest about my recovery. It is not to be. I have
terminal pancreatic cancer. No one can guess at any time line, but it
really doesn't matter. We are going to do our utmost to enjoy every
minute of every day.
With our most heartfelt appreciation we can only pray to see each of
you once again. Thank you all for being such wonderful and dear
friends.

Jack do not give up NEVER GIVE UP. I was diagnosed with terminal cancer and the doctor told me I had 3 years and 4 at the most. That was 10 years ago last month and today I am doing ok, not great but ok. Technology in modern medical care is amazing and growing with new procedures every day BUT it is not an exact science. Never ever give up and the power of prayer is overwhelming at all times. I recall the good times we had in years past including the night you allowed me to share the mic with you at a sprint car race at Knoxville. God speed to you and Louise and never ever give up.

I sent a prayer erquest to my minster friends and one wanted more info so this is what I wrote about Jack Miller am I wrong?

His favorite expression when he was announcing was "holy cow" he was a long time anouncer for Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville Iowa. He is well liked by everyone in the Sprint Car Racing world, I've never heard a bad word about him. He wrote a column in a magazine called Sprint Car and Midget which was quite informative and witty about past happenings. He is one of those characters that made racing fun and brought it alive. He knew what he was talking about on the Microphone and never a dull moment from what I've read. He had a great love for the people, he had to you could see it in his writings in his column. He is not gone yet and I've never met the man but having read what he wrote I will miss him.
