It's Welpott not Wilpot! Everyone has been misspelling it. Amanda Sparks, it's Travis Welpott from Pendleton Indiana. Thanks.

The drama was great after feature #2 last night at Paragon after an exciting finish. A couple of the heat races had great battles for the wins. Here's my neutral observation. #17 spun himself out in the heat race after driving hard and passing #66 for the lead. In the feature #17 started in the back and was excellent on the top, got to the front, spun on his own again, restarted at the tail, made it back to the front. All this time #66 ran smooth and consistent in the lead. On last lap #17 tried to pass #66 for the lead between turns 3&4, chopped down on #66 and got turned around then all heck broke loose.
The night was capped off for us with an exciting Vintage Sprint Car feature win, my cousin Bob Shutt (Racer12) spun and won after running down the leader and passing for the win. We were so excited and happy and remembered one our patriarchs of S&W Racing Tony Shutt, Bob's Dad, who passed away last October. Uncle Tony would have been so proud. Danny Williams, Jr. |
