Hello,
Can anyone tell me anything about UMARA?
Are they done?
Will there still be midget racing at Grundy County?
Thanks

Peace & love to all.

Okay Thanks Eric,
Ryan from midget madness also sent this snipet of a press release, for me to share.

Over one hundred attended the Short Track Auto Racing Series 2011 Membership Meeting this past Saturday. Expecting to see 35 to 40 quests the meeting saw standing room only as the racers were eager to hear about the new series.
“The group that was assembled here today shows just how hungry people are to get back to pavement racing here at Grundy County Speedway” said Mike Gugliemucci, one of the presenters for STARS. “Being our first face to face with many of our participants also resulted in many excellent ideas for us to think about”
STARS board members displayed their new ideas and programs that will be in place for the upcoming STARS racing season. Items included the finalized schedule showing the support races, The STARS National Midgets, STARS Illinois Dwarf Car Association, Mini Cup Cars and the Illini Racing Series. The purse for the National cars will be $125.00 to start and $1,000.00 to win, with the remaining positions to be announced shortly. Contingency sponsors will include Bell Sports, Joe Gibbs Racing Oil and The Brickyard 400.
The new rule book was discussed including the new points system, SFI specifications, tire rules and procedures. Also many items were put into place to help make the STARS events more enjoyable for the participants and the fans alike.
“What a great turnout!” said newly appointed Chief Steward Bernie Myers, “This kind of enthusiasm is more than we had hoped for. It’s been a lot of work setting up STARS to this point, and we still have a long way to go, but today’s meeting and all the great input from our members has made it worth all the time spent so far.”

Peace & love to all.
God bless our Troops at home and abroad.
