Best location for this track is on the Blacktop behind suites in North End....all seats will be Temp Seats and still have plenty of room for pit area....when race is over, you clean up and it looks like you were never there.

Correct me if I am viewing this as such, but I don't think the fans here on IOW are complaining about it as much as we are skeptical about it. There are many tracks for USAC to choose from. This idea of IMS, although grand, might be a little too much to undertake.

No announcements yet. For us fans, where will we park? What grandstands will be used? Will the track be far away in the infield from the Turn 3 stands (if used)? What type of track? 1/4 mile? 3/8 mile? Banking? Where is the clay coming from and will it dust off easily? Who will prep the track - A local track crew like Kokomo or Bloomington or IMS themselves?

For an event this relevant as far as USAC goes, and I do not know what is more relevant than Indiana Sprint Week, this is being handled poorly right now. But it will all play out one way or another. Good to chat about.
Finally someone who has some of the same questions that I have! One thing I do have to say is that if anyone has the resources to pull this off its IMS. 51 days and counting.....

Even though it not a very good kept secret.
I think I might be with a lot of other people on this and would like to know the particulars as there are still a lot of questions to be answered:

Track Size (Probably a 1/4 mile but no official word yet?
Admission Prices?
Pit Pass Price?
Grandstands next to the track or outside of the track (turn # grandstands)?
Support Divisions?
Concessions?

The one thing I will say is no one should be worried at how fast the track is built. The Gateway Dirt Nationals at the Dome in St. Louis the track is built in about 2 weeks.

The Midgets are there this year along with the Late Models and Modifieds. The Midget & Modified drivers are by invite only as they have had a lot of Mods show up the first 2 years of this race. They are posting the invitations on the event Facebook page "Gateway Dirt Nationals"

Here are invites so far for Midgets and Modifieds
Midgets
Christopher Bell
Tanner Thorson
Kevin Thomas Jr.
Brady Bacon
Justin Grant
Logan Seavey
Rico Abreu
Tim Shaffer
Tyler Courtney
Kyle Larson
Chad Boat

Modifieds
Ray Bollinger
Mike Harrison
Tanner Mullins
Mike McKinney
Brent Mullins
Jeff Leka
Jeffery Ledford
Kenny Wallace
Trent Young
Matt Cooper
Clint Bowyer

Well I thought that usac had a great opportunity to make a announcement this week about the first date for sprint week racing event. Hopefully that someone from usac can stand up to the plate tonight at kokomo and let our racing family's know. Lol. Thanks.

Well... sure. But like I was noting earlier (above) I don't think IOW fans are complaining as much as being skeptical. And something I never thought about for this event, as many fans do, can you camp out there? And if so....where?

And as for the track.... sure, put one down. When does the first dirt car take to it - that night? No testing? If you ARE going to test, who is going to do that and at what, or who's cost? Sure.... let's assume I have NW sprinter. I'll come over, on my own time, tow, and test out your track. My time, my gas?

Nope.... USAC is looking second rate right now.

Wait.... third rate.

At this point, with no direction noted, just run a Kokomo doubleheader on the 20th and 21st and let the O'Conners handle your debacle.

I’m guessing the Indy deal was planned but not going to happen. The only thing that would explain the silence is getting Plan B in place. So... Let’s have some fun with this... list in order of your preference... Who gets it? Using only the following: Gas City, Plymouth, Montpelier, and ???. Here’s mine: 1. Plymouth 2. Gas City 3. Montpelier
