I wouldn't read a whole heck of a lot into this. Any monkey can put up a fast tow lap in an open test. Most teams weren't running their Indy 500 equipment at this and you're not going to see full capabilities shown until somewhere around Fast Friday. Hell be fine, but winning this is going to be a bit of a task considering the talent he's up against from top to bottom.

Although there is always room for improvement, the car races fine and air being taken off the front wing has been a thing for around a half century. His point was more toward how the Cup car runs a little more similar than in the past due to how the use of diffusers are producing more underside downforce. He even admits that there's a ton to still learn as to how these cars react in traffic and on long runs with tire wear....not to mention the temp difference between what they ran this week and what it will be at the end of May.
