For you folks with Flo, Go back and watch it. If you don't have Flo, Check Youtube highlights.

LM fan or not. you can't deny that wasn't a great race.

Chuck, curious, how much do tickets run for a big LM show like that?

think it was 60 and the three day pass like a hundred. SOLD out, and a couple thousand in the infield SRO. If I had to guess the seating at Florence, Maybe 10-12 thousand or the equivalant of Eldora's main grandstand.. I attended many during the 80s-90s but was crewing for either a bomber or Rick Corbin LM That track never raced like it does now then. It was all on the bottom with Racin Mason and a couple others who would work the top till it came in.

#32 Bobby Pierce walked away with the $75,000 winners paycheck from 13th starting spot and Ricky Thornton Jr. came from 23rd to finish 2nd.

Thornton has also been racing a micro sprint at U.S. 24 on occasion and has a win.

2024 Season: Race 1 - April 20th Brownstown (Crate LM). Unlike many I don't discriminate on what racing I choose to watch.

Watched bits last night while working in the shop, then watched the final 30 or so laps and it was a great race. I’ve only been to florence once, but I really like the place and it’s not a bad drive. I think many of the burg regulars in the stock car classes started racing there over the last few seasons for a variety of reasons. I noticed when we were there racing that many of names in other classes I was familiar with from burg.

I always liked to run there with the tqs, they even built a track for the smaller cars, off the back stretch, and I thought that was great.
Also was unaware big brother was monitoring this website, but the person that called me out doesn't know the history of indiana very well, but there is no South Vernon, this little tidbit says it all, South Bend is North, North Vernon is South, and French Lick is not what you think it is, the first line in the obit about Pat O'Connor, raised all kinds of red flags for me!

Great 3 day show. Very impressed with the racing all 3 nights. Attendance numbers are a bit off. Without the added seats or pit bleachers it seats about 5500. Bleachers are not quite as tall as you would think. I do a couple of events there each year. They had 61 late models and 40 Modifieds. The track had to put a cap on the Modifieds this year as there were over 70 last year. Very little track prep was done during each of the 3 nights. Ricky Thorton Jr. is one of the best drivers in the country right now. Like others have said he shows up in his Micro if the LM are not racing. He pulled in for the midweek Micro races at the Rush County fair and ran very good. He has also ran the Chili Bowl the last 2 years. The guy has won over $500,000 this year.

I watched this event live, the prelim's as well

The Lucas Late Model series is great! I am a huge fan. I always watch them either live or replays.

This is a very great series, the tour of the country is pretty hectic
