Donald Edward Bullock "Snooky"
WADESVILLE, Ind. — Donald "Snooky" Edward Bullock, 76, of Wadesville, Indiana, passed away Sunday, January 3, 2010, at Pine Haven Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Don was born on March 5, 1933, to the late Juanita (Kurtz) and Edward Bullock. He was the owner of Hydromatic Shop, where he was a mechanic who repaired automatic transmissions. Don enjoyed coaching softball and baseball and especially enjoyed racing cars. He was a member of Northwoods Church.

Don is survived by his wife of 59 years, Doris Bullock of Wadesville, Indiana; sons, Michael Bullock (Carla) of Wadesville and Malcolm "Max" Bullock (Cathy) of Wadesville; sisters, Peggy Clardy, Beverly Adams, Kay Nevitt and Jan Nevitt; brothers, Ronnie Bullock, Keith Bullock, Butch Brinley, Lonnie "Buddy" Nevitt, Tom Nevitt and Terry Nevitt; and grandchildren, Mickey, Whitney, Natalie, Nicole, Kane and Krystal.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Donna Schmitt, son, Rodney Bullock, sisters, Doris Rose, Linda Bullock and Barbara Darlene Bullock and brother, Jimmy Bullock.

Funeral services 1 p.m. Thursday, January 7, 2010, at Browning Funeral Home, 738 Diamond Ave. Burial will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery, where the Retired Veterans Memorial Club will conduct military rites.

Friends may visit from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, January 6, 2010, at Browning Funeral Home and from 11 a.m. to service time on Thursday, January 7, 2010.

Memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation , 911 E. 86th Street Suite 100, Indianapolis, IN 46240.

Rip snooky. I seen him race carl gilhausen offy sprint car in usac a few times!

I never saw him race or met him that I know of but a lot of great old racing stories float around this town include his name.

Snooky's obituary didn't mention any details of his racing career, but Mike Blake had a nice tribute on WFIE on the 6:00PM news. Tom Helfrich had some interesting comments.
Snooky had an astounding number of consecutive feature wins in Dan Tucker's #76 sprint car, thirteen in a row, I believe.
They showed Snooky on the newscast with the G2 coupe with Double Cola sponsorship on the door. I didn't remember him driving that car. I always associated that car with Don Nordhorn. The G2 was owned by Gordon Ghormley, hence the G2 designation.
It was also mentioned that Snooky came from a family of fifteen children.
