BOSS at Twin Cities This Saturday, June 12

Now in its eleventh season, the MPD Racing - Buckeye Outlaw Sprint Series has tried twice in the past to race at Twin Cities Raceway Park near North Vernon, Indiana. Both prior attempts fell victim to weather with the last attempt seeing 41 traditional BOSS sprint cars in the pit area when the rains came during engine heat. Track promoter, Tim Keithly, along with BOSS promoter, Aaron Fry, are hopeful that the third time will do the trick, this Saturday, June 12th.

Four Jennings County men built the quarter mile dirt oval in 1963. Kenny Woods was the first promoter and leader of the venture built on land owned by Patrick Fry. The other partners were Dupont High School coach Thomas Chilton and Cummins Engine Company employee Harry Jackson. Initially a stock car track, Twin Cities has hosted many sprint car events through the years running both winged and traditional non wing events.

The BOSS series looks to finally add to the long history of the track this Saturday with a $2,000 to win / $300 to start main event. Through five events this season, the traveling tour has averaged 34 cars per show with a high of 44 and a low of 27. There has yet to be a repeat winner as races have been won by Drew Rader, Thomas Meseraull, Brady Bacon, Justin Grant, and most recently Paul Dues. Current series point leader, Cody White of Fremont, Ohio, will lead the wingless warriors into battle in the Hoosier state. White leads a top 5 that also consists of 2014 tour champion Mike Miller, Minnesota invader Rob Caho, Dustin Ingle and 2019 tour champion Matt Westfall. The rest of the top 15 includes Steve Little, Blake Vermillion, Saban Bibent, Parker Frederickson, Lee Underwood, Luke Hall, Paul Dues, Jesse Vermillion, Dallas Hewitt and Drew Rader.

Gates will open at 3 pm Saturday with the driver meeting set for 5 pm and hot laps at 5:30. Adult general admission is $20 with kids 10 and under free. Pit passes are an ADDITIONAL $15, ($35 total). Mufflers are NOT required. Racecievers are mandatory and we will be using the yellow Westhold transponders. Cars must be on 4 corner Hoosier tires and the right rear must be one of the following: H15, H20, Medium, W18 or Racesaver spec tire. You do NOT need to run the same right rear all night.

The complete payout for the main event is as follows: 2000, 1000, 750, 650, 550, 500, 450, 425, 400, 375, 350, 340, 330, 320, 310, 300, 300, 300, 300, 300. Heat race payouts will pay the top 4: 40, 30, 20, 10 courtesy of TCB Speed, TheChushion.com, Hoosier Racing Tires and All Star Performance. As always, seven bonus awards will also be awarded by All Pro Cylinder Heads, Cowen truck Line, Apple Metal Polishing, The Bridge at Sidney, Accu-Force Dynos & Testers, Hoosier Tire Midwest and All Star Performance.

Also, upcoming events will see BOSS at Moler Raceway Park NEXT Friday June 18 in a doubleheader weekend with Richmond Raceway in Richmond, Kentucky Saturday, June 19. Watch for details forthcoming on the official host hotel of the weekend.

Quick update for everyone. The track has received a lot of rain this week but we are going to be there all day tomorrow to get the track surface ready and to work on the pits in case we get anymore weather. Our plan is to race Saturday and if anything changes I'll be sure to post any updates.

Will be a warm one Saturday so bring plenty of water.

Gates: 3PM
Front Gate: $20
Pit Gate: $15 W/Front Gate Paid

Thanks,

Heavy rainfall all week and over an inch of rain today alone has made Twin Cities Speedway nearly impossible to maneuver. Promoter Tim Keithly had the track in decent shape earlier today before another heavy rain struck. We appreciate the efforts but tomorrow's event is cancelled! Next up is the doubleheader weekend Friday, June 18 at Moler Raceway Park and June 19 at Richmond Raceway in Kentucky!
