Bubba Clem started out here in Terre Haute. He never really was one of the funnier DJs in this market. In lieu of creativity, he's always relied on being controversial and stepping over the line, as far as the FCC goes.

"His 9-year-old son, Tyler, also factored into the decision. Tyler, Clem said, is a developmental driver with Stewart–Haas Racing — co-owned by NASCAR driver Tony Stewart, and the track “is a natural way for him to practice.”

Anybody that refers to themselves as "Bubba the Love Sponge" is starving for attention. I listened to him on Sirius a few times several years back. He is truly a idiot.

I just can't take anybody serious that is as unprofessional as he is. I wish that no sanctioning body would support him.

Is that the same Sponge dude that ran the Chili Bowl a few years back and flipped his D--- Off? Or was that Sponge BOB? I'm not sure, they both look and act alike......

I was witness to Bubba's track prep. Friday late morning he had run the sheeps foot around and watered, the track was still black from the rubbered down track he gave them Thursday. USAC and some of the owners spoke up and he finally dug it up. He won't be around long because he will have everybody upset with his attitude.

I guess that means USAC is not Sponge Worthy.

Frankly I'm glad I never had an occasion to listen to the guy on the radio.

If he’s going to be that sensitive when things aren’t 100% right, he better get out of the business now. How many times have fans/drivers gotten on the internet to complain about a track (some deserved, some not)? How many times have you seen the track owner get on the internet to blast fans/drivers? Not saying never, but rarely. You can’t run a business by basically telling people FU. I get the, “I’m going to tell it like it is” deal, but it doesn’t make a lot of sense when running a business. When people aren’t happy, you can’t tell them FU. Sometimes you have to handle things off-line. We have seen a track that wasn’t great and the reason given was, “sanctioning body X took over and I had no control over it”. That happens (not sure in this case), but I’ve not seen a track owner get into fights with drivers and officials about it on the internet. Lot to learn, you can’t treat owning a track like it’s a radio show. He might be PO’ed, but not handled well.
