Stanbrough gets it done over Clayton, Leary, Cottle and Short. Really good feature! Awesome job by Stanbrough!

I got to the track at 3pm and there were still some sprinkles coming down now and then. When i walked past the track grabbing my seat, It looked like the track might have been packed hard, Although i couldn't really tell. I knew they had sealed it last night but that was after rains we had yesterday.

Well turns out there was a lot of moisture in there, but it was packed down good enough to widen out and by the end of the night it was to the wall.

Didn't know what to expect for total count but anything more than a full field is a bonus. I counted 21 and in fact Landon Simon started 21st in the feature.

If this race had been a normal 25 laps. LIGHTS OUT, GAME OVER. CLAYTON WINS Although Stanbrough had pulled along side several times. He just never got it to stick long enough to take the lead for good. He grabbed the lead on a lap nine restart but Clayton turned back under him in two and held the lead. He also was along side Clayton at a lap 15 yellow.

I can tell you this, Jon Stanbrough used every single inch of that track at some point during that race and even once was in the infield. Coming off of four to complete the 26th lap, He used a lapped car to trap Clayton and ducked under to grab the lead before getting back into turn one. Clayton Cowboyed that cushion the whole race, only coming off it when lapped cars dictated but sometimes it's better to be in second and Stanbrough was there at the one point Clayton couldn't stay in it.

WOW, Big Congrats to the Silent Gasser, Dutcher and the team. WOW.

The Mod race was ever bit as exciting with Brandon Green taking his first Lawrenceburg win and even though the cushion was three feet from the wall, once he grabbed the lead he put four in the fluff and seemed to be even faster.

Andrew Corbin came from deep 17th running all kinds of different lines to grab second. Adam Hamilton who started 14th grabbed third.

Very fun to watch was Josh Rice who started on the pole and after getting into the back of Joey Kramer and put to the tail for rough driving, Then getting docked two spots on a restart penalty. Came from dead last to fourth passing two cars on lap 18 in one move. WOW.

That was awesome.
Hate to say a necessity stop caused me to miss the hornet feature. Hope all went well and all are safe.

That was a great race, tonight!! When Clayton is on a rampage and is screamin' just inside the fence like that, he's a sight to behold. You're just riveted. And lap after lap he just set a torrid pace, lifting that left front off the ground as he exited turns two and four. But on this night, he wouldn't demolish the field, as he had a talent laden USAC one at Haubstadt just a few weeks ago. Because as fast as he was going, he was being kept in the sights of Jon Stanbrough. Early in the race, Jon took a bunch of runs at him. Then when they caught lapped traffic the first time, Clayton just pulled off an insane move, sliding like 4 lapped cars at one time and put some distance between he and his pursuer. How I didn't fall out of my seat at that moment, I don't know. Then little by little, Jon started to reel him back in, until when making a move to the lower part of the track, he nearly ran into the infield and Clayton escaped yet again. I knew this was only getting started, because these two had a history of engaging in epic battles. Two of which were a couple of the best races I've EVER seen. Late in the race, there was a yellow. Daron got a good restart and put some distance between he and Jon. But not a lot of distance. Then Jon started to reel him back in, as CJ Leary was catching them both as they neared lapped traffic again, with 4 laps left. Daron made a move on a lapped car and drifted up a bit, losing some momentum. That was all that Stanbrough needed. Opportunity knocked and he seized the lead, never giving it back.

I've watched drivers try to chase Clayton when he on his game and that rarely works. But I never had the impression that Jon was chasing him in this race. It felt more like he was stalking him. And when his chance came he took advantage of it. It's great to watch two great drivers just throw down like these two did, at such high speeds. It definitely adds another element to the whole experience.

The track was good all night and I got to watch a whale of a race with some good friends that I don't get to see as often as I would like, so it was a real good night at the track for me.

Jerry

Didn't get to see ya Jerry, But Marv told me you showed up.

Just watched this again on Jackslash, Im telling you, Video is good but it doesn't capture the sheer speed those guys were running at.

Once Leary got dialed in, he was stalking both of em

Love Sprint Cars over a hundred Mph. WOW.

Just wanted to add that it was good seeing the Soudrette 44 making laps with multi time mod champion Jeff Harris a the helm. he got the wall the feature but was able to drive off. I believe it was only his second time in a Sprinter as he had drove one nigh for Staab on the old track.

Landon Simon also came back from a disasterous heat starting 21st and finishing 9th.
