You think he will make it 1st round? lol.

I know a lot of people have this & that to say about NASAR (I did & have thru the years), but - although less & less interest than the era when Tony 1st came in - their US ratings still blow away other series (I always do hope the Indy 500 out-draws the coke 600 that same night & Daytona - not combined, but each event. I'm pretty sure the 500 has at least the 600 lately), they continue to try things to make it more appealing, and (in direct regard to the HoF) it IS a nice way to celebrate & honor those that had envious achievements.

Some like to complain about the order & credentials whomever gets in, but - with a little patience - 5 guys a year (all voted on by a respected body of individuals), so everyone's favorite should eventually get in. Obvsly, they HAVE to have a couple guys from the "modern era" to give speeches & create interest. I like the timing of the ceremony to - RIGHT b4 the NASCAR season starts/not even on Tulsa week either! lol

It's good that another open wheel guy is going into the NASCAR HoF but given the ******** involved with who does and who doesn't go in it's hard to regard this HoF as much more than a bad joke.

Never said any particular inductee is not worthy, although there have been a few that an argument could be made either way. It's a matter of degree. The people in charge of who is on the ballot's and those who have a vote that actually counts are working from the top down, or at least it would seem. The out of order situation started from the very first class inducted and there is at least one person that has been conspicuously absent from the ballots since day one. There is a strong smell of the France family being the reason why. Thus making the whole thing a joke.

Humpy? Smith is already in. Or Smokey? Is there really a long lasting grudge there???

I work with one of the voters, at the local pavement track, and she doesn't seem like one that would go out of her way (at 92yrs old) to be part of a conspiracy...

What source tells you that?????

I see we were right about the 600 (I left it a question), but a 3.1 is WAY less than a 5.3...(& again, I would like it to be the other way around, but unless there really is ever "global warming" - lol - and half the country is stuck inside their house Memorial Day wknd - like they are when Daytona is ran - I don't see it happening...)

You tell me if there's a grudge???

Keep guessin'! LOL!

Of what conspiracy do you speak? I wasn't aware of one but you may be. Either way the NASCAR HoF is a joke.

How many 92+ year old's are voter's? Just curious.

Hmmm...I really have no idea. That has been the point of my post. Tell me who belongs & who shouldn't be in! Its been 10years. Not everyone's favorite can make it in the 1st couple years...

I have no idea if there is a grudge between NASCAR & Smokey. Imagine there could be. U'd think anyone involved would be long over it (if they are still alive).

U described a conspiracy to keep someone out...I'm not the one who brought it up...lol

I don't know the age of all the voters. I only know of the one I talk with often.

Nice of you to discount all that made it in as a "joke"...(U will prolly say u didn't say that, but if the HoF is a joke, than what is it without the members that are in???)

Again, I'd prefer to enjoy it for what it is. I most likely will live another 50 years or so, so maybe I will see another 5 drivers a year entered. Please provide me your list so I can check them off as they make it! lol (honestly I have concern if NASCAR/the HoF/& racing as a whole will make it 50years! lol)

We keep this goin, I might be further ahead to log onto Twitter or FB for mindless entertainment...didn't think I'd have to deal with it on IoW...lol
