The weekend before is the PRI show. Which is probably why the Du Quoin race has been on this same weekend for a while.

A few years back, it was in early December (before PRI). As you mention, I think that 2nd weekend (the 9th this year) is out as it is during the PRI show. Either needs to be weekend before or weekend after the show.

Lead sleds in protest riddled St. Louis vs. midgets in Duquoin. Easy choice. I will see some of you in Duquoin.

It's odd that it isn't on the USAC National Midget schedule or the fairgrounds listings of events.
It is on the USAC schedule as a special event (non points), the March race is a National points race.

You are absolutely correct. Thanks for setting me straight. I looked at the schedule just a few days ago and do not remember seeing the December Du Quoin show on it. Not saying it wasn't there but if it was I completely missed it.

I do not think it was on there, it was not on the Speed Shift Schedule as of the time of original post but it is on there now. I would imagine it was added to both schedules after the OP, guess I shoulda waited a couple more days before asking!
