Have done some research and am looking to buy a new Spike Chassis and was brought to my attention that the owner is retiring. The website looks a bit out of date.
Wondering if they are gonna close up their doors and no longer make their Spike or even the Bullet chassis?
I can assure you 100% the company is not closing. John Godfrey has retired and the company has been taken over by long time Speedcar racer Mark Cooper. The team is the still the same, quality craftsmanship at the highest of levels. Spike still builds the S14 short arm Midget, the long arm Midget and wing/non wing sprint cars. All of these cars can be found winning each weekend across the country.
Please give Derrick a call at 317-852-7171 and we can discuss your needs and any questions you may have.
Also thank you Jeff for Brad Loyet's number. My Dad has been looking for that.
I also have taken a look at DRC and notice that they only offer a basic chassis package and not a full roller like some of their full sized sprint chassis.
This helps clarify what was brought to our attention about a week ago.
I would definitely call Joe at DRC before making a final decision, lots of places won't list roller prices because there are so many options that it could be tough to nail down a list price, but many will still do it. DRC builds a safe, well built car. I won't buy anything else other than a DRC.
