A good race at G.C. even with a short field of cars. Coons had them covered pretty well tonight in the 10e car but Gurley and Messeraull had a chance with a late caution that grouped them back up and TMez and Gurley swapped positions back and forth several times for second.
Bilbee had worked his way to 5th before biking it in one and two and took another lap to check it out before pulling in with some sort of damage to the car. Hopkins had a good run going too but slid over the hill in 3 and 4 and came to a stop by the pit gate. He restarted and worked his way back up towards the front. Keen left early with a flat left rear. The track was real racy and held up good all night with no dust. Great job by all the drivers and track crew tonight!

Track probably held up pretty well with good weather and fewer cars/races taking the track. Only 35 total cars? 15 sprints, 14 mods, 6 thunder cars. Kokomo wasn't much better with 46 cars Sunday. I know, it's the economy and Obama. What can these tracks do to turn things around? Not many fans can justify paying the same admission fee to see half as many cars and half the show they used to see not that long ago. The "all that show up will be there" and "it will still be a good show" crowd will come, but it will become difficult to keep the doors open if you rely on fans with that mentality to pay the bills alone. No easy solutions, but I don't think it's good to turn a blind eye to what may be a much bigger problem as the season goes on.

I would say fewer cars in the sprint car division had more to do with the amount of stuff going on. Pa swing definitely took sprints from Kokomo and gas city.
