Don

Your link doesn't work.

The super is the way I wish Indy cars would have gone in the 60's. With just a few changes those things could be a great race car for the larger tracks and longer distance races. They have the right genes. You aught to work on that.

What does a Super weigh? They're pretty close in HP aren't they?

I believe the east coast supers are around 1,800 lbs. Don't know how many ponies they are pushing, I think some of the top teams achieve between 800-900 HP.

East Coast and Central USA Super Modifieds weight rules from:
ISMA and MSA are 1850 Lbs without driver 468CI About 860HP,
AVSS 410 Winged Sprint Cars are 1620 with driver, 410 CI HP 900+.

The Supers have less HP but more torque.

There are some 410 west coast supers that can get to 1600# pretty easy. Should be a great event.

You are right Rod. I see Birges from the west coast going to make the trip. I believe the west coast supers weigh as little as 1550. I also think they are allowed more offset to the left compared to the east coast cars.

I'd like to see a west coast car drop the weight and use the larger east coast wings. I think their only disadvantage would be track time.

we ran the supers against the sprints at
Syracuse a few times..The sprints were 4 seconds faster.
