Since every team MUST lease eight sets of tires at $1,800 per set, usually the Parkers will selloff the remaining 7 sets off to the big boys who suck em all up, and that helps take care of the little guy's budget.
That silver #64 Toyota Gunselman Motorsports team, when driven by Todd Bodine, ran a lot of R&D tests DURING the races and gathered plenty of data for MWR, in the race. In the 2009 Nextel Open, we were constantly pitting and changing shocks. That information was then relayed back to the MWR teams. This is how driver David Reutimann - and all in one shot - won the Pole in Ft Worth, won the Bank of America 500 at Lowes, and then got the Pole in Dover the very next week. After that, the rest of the Toyota camp landed the information and the field was leveled back out. Reutimann never fared that well for the duration of his racing career.
