1 Davey Ray
2 Steve Buckwalter 3 Scott Glazebrook I saw Casey Shuman was way down the list in DNF's. I heard 6 cars rolled in the A-main. The race was rained out Saturday night and rescheduled for today,November 6th. Its the equivilent of Kentucky Derby day there, with it being Melbourne Cup day. http://www.speedcarworld.com.au |

Way to go Dave! I keep wondering why his luck is so much better down under.

Here is a link to an interview with Davey, where he says the car he races in Australia is the best package he races all year. That could explain his continued success down under.
http://www.wasda.com.au/release.asp?NewsId=44680 As for the racing last night, for me The Magic Man 34 race last night was marred by the track conditions. The rain over the past few days had obviously made the track very soft, and the track rutted up badly very early, and just got worse as the night went on. A couple of the rollovers were caused by cars just hitting one of the many ruts wrong, and bouncing straight over. Even Davey was lucky not to roll when attempting to lap a backmarker. No real attempt was made by the promoters to fix the track either. I think they were so concious of trying to run to schedule to finish on time given it was a Tuesday night, they didnt want to use any time for track maintenance. Having said all that, the best car on the night won, and there were some great battles, I just would have liked to see them last longer rather than having cars continuosly flip when running up front. But thanks to the guys from the US for coming over and putting on a show. Would love to see more in future years. And on a better prepared track. |

Davey is certainly not letting any grass grow under his feet. He was in the pits at Canyon today.
