We had another car down here it was named the "THUNDER MUG" it was a big old Hemi Chrysler with 8 Stromberg 97's on top and I think driven by Hugh"Leadfoot" Randall.
Gotta say I'm pretty proud to have the "Hardy Boys Special" silver crown car that Shane Cockrum is running for us. Nothing cooler than having your family name on a big car!
In the 60s, Diz had an orange 71 called "Big Iron", Gaines first ride with Diz. He later built a yellow 70 called "Old Yeller" that Gaines drove while Carl Williams drove the 71. They finished 1/2 many times at the burg. Leon Thickston later bought the 71 and changed the number to 72 and painted it blue. Diz built a new 71 that Don Nordhorn drove, don't know if it had a name, but it was orange.
