Here is a response from the Helfrich's in light of last week's 50/50 drawing.

Normally we don't respond to the criticism aimed our way on this forum. We don't feel this is the venue to defend our business. However, there were some circumstances regarding the 50/50 drawing this week that need to be clarified. First of all, the 50/50 sales and drawing are the responsibility of one of our sponsors. They do not receive the other half. It does go into a drivers fund, not a point fund but a fund that helps the track pay for the drivers purses. We regret the outcome of this past week's drawing. We have heard several different versions of what happened, but we feel the right thing to do is to pay the same winnings to the first winner as the second drawing. If there is someone who frequents this forum and knows the first winner, please have them contact Loris or Tom at 812-768-6025 to discuss getting their money.

I thought the class people at THE CLASS TRACK would make this right. Good for them.

Good deal. You can always count on the Helfrichs to do the right thing.

Jason...

Just a suggestion - someone else suggested that you change the way that you acknowledge a back stretch winner. Perhaps you can use the back stretch concession stand to advise the front stretch that the winner is back there and that they've confirmed the ticket #'s. Then there shouldn't be any issue like the one that occurred last week.....

Thanks for that Jason, Tom and TSS. I think that was the class thing and removes any doubt in my mind that Your track trys to do the right thing!
