UMRA Heads To Brownstown and Kokomo
By Alex Wollf

The 2011 UMRA season shifts into high gear this weekend with a pair of races at two of Indiana’s premier dirt tracks. Saturday night the Brownstown Speedway hosts the TQs for the first time this season. In 2010 Oogie Goff, Brandon Gray, and Terry Goff visited Victory Lane at the Jackson County speedplant. Sunday night the scene shifts north to the Kokomo Speedway. Last season Scott Petry and Jason Goff were victorious in UMRA competition on the quarter-mile. All eyes will be on whether or not anybody can beat CJ Leary who got his first taste of UMRA victory in the season opener at Twin Cities Raceway Park on April 30.
There will also be three contingency awards that the drivers will be chasing after this weekend. The Tony Stewart “Smoke The Field” Challenge will hand out $50 to the driver that advances the most positions in the feature event. Patrick Wolf gained 11 positions en route to smoking the field at Twin Cities and is now eligible to take home the large cash prize at the end of the season. The Green-Tech Lubricants “Hard Luck” Award will give $50 to the driver that a panel of voters has selected as having the hardest luck during the evening. The Leary Construction “Winners Bonus” will award $50 to the winner of the feature.
