CMC season kicks off this weekend

The U.S. Race Gear Cincinnati Modified Championship presented by Gabbard's Mt. Orab Ford and B&B Auto Care kicks off the 2011 season this coming weekend with the first 2 of 77 events scheduled. Things will get underway Friday night at Moler Raceway Park and head across the flooded Ohio river on Saturday night for $1000 to win. Drivers will start to accumalate there best 15 races as we find out who the best Modified driver in the region is. A driver must be registered to be elligible for prizes but registration is free. Moler Raceway Park saw Devin Gilpin claim 10 feature wins in 2010 on his way to the CMC championship, the Moler track championship and a 2nd in UMP National points. Doug Adkins and David Mcwilliams would claim 4 features each while Matt Hamilton would be the only other multiple race winner with 2 wins.
Matt Hamilton would use 6 wins at Florence Speedway to claim that track championship even though Rick Corbin would claim 9 wins at the 1/2 Mile. They would be the only drivers with multiple wins at Florence.

Who will be the first drivers in 2011 to post there name on the CMC win leader board presented by Diamond Race Cars? This weekend will also mark the beginning of a battle for the 2011 Bowmanenterprise.com Rookie of the year. Last years battle was so tight it ended in a tie. Another battle to keep your eye on is the Lightning Chassis driver of the year. Lightning Chassis has put up a nice bonus to the top driver in one of their cars.
