The 2013 Sheldon Kinser Memorial is in the books.

The records will show Chris Windom as the winner, for his 2nd SK Memorial victory. But what the records will not show is just how entertaining this race was to watch! I can’t tell you what broke on Hunter’s car, or what happen to Shane Cottle causing him to fade as the feature went on, but for the first few laps, there was fever pitched racing for every position from the front to the back of the entire field. For awhile, it was difficult to choose who and where to watch. The racing was FANTASTIC!

For 3/4 of the race Ethan Barrow had the race of his season! He ran top 3 - top 5 and had some great battles as he hung tough with some of the best racing laps he has turned all year at Bloomington! It looked as if his setup was causing him some handling issues later in the race, as he fell to finish in 8th, but a GREAT run for the 15 team.

Kyle Cummins just kept getting stronger and stronger as the race went on, and as they say, if there had been 5 more laps, but there wasn’t, and Kyle came up just a little short.

Jon Stanbrough finished strong 3rd, but NOBODY is ever happy with 3rd place especially Jon Stanbrough! It is especially tough to take when you can see/hear/smell the 2 guys right in front of you.

Dave Darland, what can you say about Ol’ Dave, he quietly motored up through the field from 11th to 5th and if you were only watching the top 5, you missed some UNBELIEVABLE racing back here with Darland coming through the field.

Chase Briscoe also had a GREAT run coming from 12th to 6th on Darlands heels. It looks like Chase is getting settled into the different chassis quit nicely!

The Modifieds;

Once again it was the Devin Gilpin show as he picked up his 2nd Bloomington Speedway feature and his 21st feature win of the year. He is on fire this season!

The Super Stocks;

Troy Clark picked up his first win since April of this year. It was a very popular win with the fans too, as Troy is a great guy and a fan favorite.

The Hornets;

Frank Robertson was the Hornet feature winner, and he held off a CHARGING Luke Bland to pick up his FIRST feature win of his career. Frank and crew were happy campers in victory circle as the Hornet winner on Sheldon Kinser Memorial night. CONGRATULATIONS to Frank and crew on his 1st feature win!

All in all it was a great night of racing, and it was a beautiful night for all the fans to sit on the hill and see another great tribute to one of Bloomington Speedways greatest drivers of all time Sheldon Kinser!

THANK YOU, to the fans and the racers from all of us at Bloomington Speedway!
See you all back here on July 19th for USAC’s Indiana Sprint Week!

Hunter broke a bolt in the RF steering arm. Cottle broke a rear end.
