D’ARCY GMC PAVEMENT MIDGET NATIONALS PRESENTED BY BELL HELMETS SET FOR AUGUST 24

Morris, IL-The 2013 version of one of the area’s hottest racing events will be taken to the next level. For the last two years, the highlight of the Short Track Auto Racing Series schedule has been the D’Arcy Shootout. This thrilling race event draws fans and drivers from all over the Midwest to see the most exciting pavement open wheel racing in the country. The Short Track Auto Racing Series is pleased to announce the inaugural D’Arcy GMC Pavement Midget Nationals presented by Bell Helmets. “We are absolutely thrilled to take this event to the next level”, commented STARS Managing Director, Mike Guglielmucci. “The addition of a quality and well recognized brand which is Bell Helmets puts this event in a new category.” The first Summer Pavement Nationals will be on Saturday, August 24, 2013 at the Grundy County Speedway in Morris, Illinois.

The addition of Bell Helmets as the presenting sponsor brings additional incentive to the participating race teams. The purse structure will be enhanced in an effort to reward the drivers and their teams for being a part of this inaugural event. Drivers will be circling August 24,, 2013 on their schedule, in hopes of becoming the inaugural winner of the Pavement Midget Nationals.

The event has become a fan favorite. Fans have been given the opportunity to meet Bobby and Donnie Allison at the 2012 event. Race simulators have also been at the Speedway to test the skills of those in attendance. The STARS events always have gifts for the fans as they enter the speedway and all in attendance can participate in additional door prizes and trivia questions throughout the evening. Finally, the world famous STARS big wheel races give the younger fans to make their way on to the track and race a big wheel for prizes during intermission.

The D’Arcy GMC STARS Series next event of their 2013 season will be on July 6, 2013. Gates open at 5pm with the first race taking place at 6:30pm.
