Baer Field in Fort Wayne announced today they're putting in a quarter mile dirt track within their pavement track(s) to run select shows.

Interesting play given the uncertainty around Gas City.

Pelier only runs maybe a handful of sprint shows, both wing and non-wing, a year.

And there's no telling what they'd run in Fort Wayne.

Could this be another Plymouth type situation where they try it first then make a decision on weather or not to become a full blown dirt track?

It is a shame they can't get a promoter to step up at Gas City. Just concerned that if no one steps up could be gone for good which would be a disappointment. As for a new track I wish them luck. Going to be tough to pick a night to run without a lot of competition for cars and fans.

I guess I don't look at this as a new track when it is an existing race facility that has multiple tracks on the grounds. I hope it works and wish them luck. Don't see people whining but just have questions and again you would have thought owners would have a plan ready to communicate if they are going to make an announcement like this.
