Im sure this has been talked about before and I just missed it but, Will USAC's New HT2 be legal at all Indiana Race Tracks or will some stay only with the DT3? I have a pile of DT3's and understand they are also legal but the HT2 looks to be a much better tire and if legal will surely be the tire to run, I kinda hoped some local tracks would stay with to DT3 for a season to give us a chance to burn the all up!?

It looks like it's going to be either or everywhere.

This is just a guess but I bet they do what USAC is doing..allowing the dt3 And ht2 this year only and then switching to the ht2 only

I wonder how many local racers will be able to buy a new one weekly,it looks like there softer and will not last as long.

There's no tire or engine rule at paragon.

There is no tire rule with the Buckeye Outlaw Sprint Series either.
I got a new HT2 today and it was $222 and change with tax. I have not used my durometer to check it yet, but Hoosier said it is at least 10 points softer than the DT3. They said it is comparable to the hardness of a D15. If that is the case, then why did Hoosier make a new tire? Why not just make the 15s, the rule at area tracks, USAC, or MSCS? Sidewall construction, footprint width, natural or synthetic rubber, etc all play an intricate part in what makes a new tire different than an existing one. |

Why a new softer tire,my guess the three or four big teams are pushing 900 hp and a tad more,so they complain about not hooking up so give them a softer compound (they can buy new ones every race). To bad for the local guys you come bring your family and friends get a few laps, and WATCH THEM RACE.
