The Montpelier Motor Speedway Midget series rules are now available on our website: www.MontpelierMotorSpeedway.com

Changes/Highlights For 2013 Season:
- Purse Tier Structure – The 2012 purse had a 4 tier structure based upon car count. For the 2013 season, the Midget series is guaranteed to pay at minimum $500 To Win and $100 to Start regardless of car count.

-The series WILL continue to have a Bonus Purse for a full field of cars that will pay a minimum of $800 To Win and $150 To Start. The purse breakdown for a full field of cars remains unchanged from 2012. Complete 2013 purse payout by position can be found on our website on the Midget rules page.

- RACEceiver radios are mandatory for all Montpelier Motor Speedway classes during the 2013 season.

- Any driver that has completed 6 or less career starts in a dirt division that allows full size/full production Midgets will be eligible to compete for the 2013 Montpelier Motor Speedway Midget Rookie of the Year.

- A Points Fund WILL AGAIN be paid to Montpelier competitors at our season banquet.

Rules, Scheduling & Tenative Opening Weekend
The rest of the series remains unchanged from the 2012 season including the 10 race schedule, open tire/brand compound rules, and one right rear per event rule. Unlimited weight breaks will again be utilized to even competition among current full production midget engines and other engines that may be providing less horsepower.

The Montpelier Motor Speedway is set to the open the season the first weekend of April. Currently, a full show is scheduled for Saturday Night, April 6. The possibility of a season opener double header is currently being looked into with a tentatively scheduled Friday Night, April 5 full midget program. Last season, the pits were filled with 27 Midget entries for the early April 2012 season opener.

The April 5th & 6th dates would be interesting. That is normally the week before Gas City or Bloomington open so that Friday night would be open for some early season racing. Also, it would be the week before the Powr I & USAC midget show at Kokomo on the 12th & 13th. I hope you can pull this off. A great way to open the season with midgets racing at Montpelier.

This will be an OFF week here in Florida and we might bring 4 cars if is a 2 day show...
Speaking of Florida... here is some news

wanted to tell everyone we will be the support series for USAC during the winternationals here in Fl. in Feb.
Feb 20 (P) 21-22-23....3 complete shows paying $500.00 to win each night.
We will also run Fri., Sat. (day) Sun. (day) Feb. 15,16,17 at Marion County Speedway "The Bullring" as a regular show if anyone wants to come early to get out of the cold
the tracks are less then 2 miles apart and BRP (Bubba's Raceway Park) will be running the WoO Late models or Volusia County Speedway (Daytona) will be running WoO sprint cars, just 42 miles thru the forest on State Rd. 40...Fri. Sat and Sun. Nights hence the day shows
USAC will have a press release today or tomorrow...remember these are the same rules as Bill May's MMSA has where chain drives and quick change cars run together just NO NATIONAL engines...Esslinger Mopar ect.!! thanks wayne davis...did not mean to jack the thread just wanted to inform...I will start a new one
