Restoring a 70's era Edmonds with Autocraft but don't have motor yet. Can some one tell me how high the exhaust sits over top rail so I can mount the hood? I know I have to cut hood out but want to make sure I have hood sitting high enough to clear mag and exhaust and enough hood to cut out.

Don't cut your hood until you have the motor in the car and the exhaust on it. Those 4 into 1 systems were typically built on the car and there is no standard dimensions to work to. Remember that the VW engine's width changes depending upon the crank stroke and rod length. It can vary an inch from one motor to another depending upon the collection of parts used.
I went thru three exhaust systems before finding one that fit my conglomeration of stuff. Chuck Schultz Winfield, Illinois |
