I know a guy who sells tires for vehicles and is by far cheaper than anyone else around, I asked him why and he said he would rather sell a bunch of tires for a little bit of money than a few tires for a lot of money. Maybe instead of promoters raising prices they should try lowering ticket cost and packing the place. I'm not saying it will work but if you pack the place every race then you also sell more concessions.
I do not have the perfect solution but obviously the cost of everything keeps going up and purses have not even come close to keeping up with all the other cost.
Local tracks, weekly shows, yes! Special event the cost of a ticket is minor when compared to travel costs.
