I'm disappointed as well that this year's Independence Day weekend in Illinois will not be repeated in 2018. I'm also disappointed (but not too surprised) that one of midget racing's longest-standing traditions has been taken off the schedule. I'm happy to see that Jefferson County and Solomon Valley are still on, but it will definitely seem odd to be staying in Belleville without the Nationals. That has to be a pretty big blow for that community.
