Dad and I went to a sprint race at Salem in May, 1967. Sonny was driving the Iddings #93 and he was terrific on the high banks. The next day we went to the Speedway for practice and were sitting in the cafeteria under the paddock when Sonny came in wearing his driving uniform. We talked about his day at Salem. You are right on in saying he was a great guy and an excellent racer too.
