Weather forecast shows sunny and a high of 75, with a low of 52 tonight. IRP has long been a favorite of mine. Saw my first major race there on the road course in 1964, The Yankee 300 USAC-FIA sanctioned stock car race. Every big name USAC and NASCAR driver was there. Only time I got to see Fireball Roberts race. Three weeks later he was burned in the World 600 and died on July 2, 1964. Fearless Fred Lorenzen won the race.
Hate that I can't attend, but I have to rise early in the morning to get to the Brickyard tomorrow.
