On Sunday, you have the opportunity to see an endangered species at Anderson Speedway: a pavement non-wing sprint car race. This race is one of only six non-wing pavement sprint car races in the state of Indiana this year.

Yes, Sunday, April 27th is the date for the 15th annual Glen Niebel Classic featuring the USSA Sprint Cars and Kenyon Midgets. The sprint cars will conclude the day by running a 100 lap feature. Last year's "Niebel Classic" featured a quality field of 22 sprint cars with Aaron Pierce taking the checkered flag.

I expect a decent car count this year as well with teams tuning up for next month's Little 500.

*Gates open at 11:30 a.m. Qualifying starts at 12:20 p.m. Racing starts at 2 p.m.

*Admission is $12 for adults, $4 for kids ages 6-12. Children 5 years old and under get in free.
