Sammy does, in fact, hold the world record for the fastest average lap speed ever officially recorded on a dirt track. However, that world record is not 150+ MPH. Sammy turned The Springfield Mile at 24.717 seconds which equate's to a 145.637 MPH average lap speed. To my knowledge no radar gun was used that day to get Sammy's straightaway speeds getting into turn's #1 and #3 but it's been conservatively estimated that he was entering those turns at 170+ MPH.
