If the race is over when the leader takes the checkers, then why allow any changes in position behind the leader whether there is a caution or not? I mean the race IS over and nothing else matters, right? By your reasoning, every race should use the white flag lap to determine 2nd place back because the race is over when the winner takes the checkers.
