Nelson Looks to Gobble Up the Competition in Turkey Night Return

When Tyler Nelson and his Cappy Mason-owned #47 Spike Chassis pull into Ventura Raceway, it will be for his sophomore race at the 1/5th mile. They had a respectable run in the 2016 edition of the Turkey Night Grand Prix, and are looking to make the Feature this year while contending with the best of the 52 entries.
Coming off the Kokomo Klash a month ago with his own #88, 20 year old Nelson climbs back behind the wheel of the #47 for his fourth race of the season with the team. Putting together three races in four nights from Nebraska to Kansas in August, they earned a best finish of twelfth and made the Feature twice. So working together again, they will continue to improve and build on their past performances.
The 77th Turkey Night Grand Prix kicks off with practice on Wednesday. Thursday qualifying begins about 3:30pm (Pacific Time) leading into the 98 lap Feature.
