we have always wrapped our pavement tires in wet towels to help cure and harden them. They aren't made well enough to with stand the torque off the turns if left alone. and they burn up to easily. Tire failures cost us 3 wins in 06. I mean like chunks of the rubber coming off. blisters when hooked not loose. Dirt tire just make it an open rule and then everyone could do what they like. We found that to much treat lead to no grip the last 5 laps or so. In go karts treating was an art and legal at most venues. Shifter karts it was not legal and they would shread a treated tire anyway. Haven't been impressed trying to treat sprint tires no noticable gains. and many loss'es
