When my family members and I promoted Lawrenceburg Speedway some 45 years ago we did all we could to support and be part of the Lawrenceburg community, even though we did not live there. We banked there, we belonged to the Chamber of Commerce, we attended town meetings, bought what supplies we could locally, we even attended high school football games ( it was a big deal back then - still is). On opening night we had sprints cars and stock cars lining the streets in the afternoon.

Forward to today. The city realizes the value of the speedway. Many go to the casino before and/ or after the races. The city gets a piece of every dollar spent at the casino, so it’s a win -win. The retiring promotors were local and successful, the new promotor also is local and I’m sure that goes along way in community relationships. Only time will tell, but I believe “The Legendary Lawrenceburg Speedway”
will remain an active speedway in the years to come.
