I think you had to finish on the podium of all three events to get that bonus, and when no one repeated on the podium at the hustler is when they came up with the “non-regular” bonus for L-burg.
Interesting comments from Ballou after the race, basically accusing Grant of cheating with tires. I assume USAC still takes tire samples at random events.
