From what I've read, the car that McGrath was killed in was own by Jack Hinkle. George Bignotti agreed to buy the car after the race but after the death of McGrath, the deal was cancelled. A man by the name of Whittington purchased the Hinkle Kurtis Kraft car at some point. His three sons raced in the Indy 500 in the 1980's, the infamous Whittington Brothers.
