There also was a kid from Central Illinois who drove ARCA stock cars back in the late 80's-early 90's who was killed at Talladega in May of 1991 by the name of Chris Gehrke. He was 25 years old. Not positive but I think a dirt late model driver who was trying his hand at superspeedway racing was in on that fatal crash.

I wondered if there was any connection but obviously the last name is spelled differently.
