Re: 1990 winner $ vs. today

I have some old paperwork from my old man's car owners. In the late 60's, he ran super modifieds in Michigan. One of those items was a pay sheet of what the car won every night. The one that stuck...

Re: Tulsa Shootout - entries. Also Kyle Busch racing 4 divis

Those entry fees may have just paid for the lease on the building. Everyone likes to talk about how much money they bring in, but no one talks about how much money it cost.

Re: 2021 Transponders

Any track I have dealt with where you have to buy a transponder, the transponder is yours. It is up to you to make sure it is in working order, just like a raceceiver would be. They did say they will...

Re: Larson

That is not Paul Silva's #57 that Rico is in. That car is owned by Works Limited, but forget the actual owners name. Paul Silva is the crew chief on the Works Limited #57.

The Silva/ Larsen owned...

Re: T Mez quote

I dont know if you could call it "wore out", but clay will take rubber, and sand over time, and that will take away the clay's ability to hold moisture the way it did without rubber and sand in it....

The cost to do business keeps rising faster than inflation as well.

Re: Pontiac Silverdome

I was there. 9 years old, but I remember it well. They had a few circle track events, some on the floor, and others they built dirt tracks for.

Re: My Top Ten

Bowman Gray is on my short list. I just want to experience the atmosphere. Add that to all of the central PA dirt tracks, and that pretty much makes up my list.

Re: All Stars on Speedvision

Not entirely accurate. Speedshift posted earlier today that they will not be airing tonight at 34 Raceway due to TV contracts.

Re: Third brake thoughts...

There are a lot of games being played with brakes in the late model ranks, and to some extent, the sprint car world also. Where the caliper is mounted has a direct affect on what the suspension parts...

Re: Sprints on Dirt (SOD) Sold

I kind of thought the same thing when Naida announced his changes, but they held their own. I get the open motor rules. I just did not like the no weight limit, and the tire rule. At least open the...

Re: Little 500 Starting Lineup

That would be DNQ. Those guys did take qualifying attempts, and were actually in the field at one time, until the DQ's popped up.

Re: Little 500 Starting Lineup

Anyone know the reason behind the DQ's after qualifications? I saw 3, maybe 4 cars were DQ'd, and I have not seen anyone talking about it.

Re: Sealing wheel halves

We always used silicone. Most wheels we bought had clear silicone to seal them. When we purchased kits, and had to build them ourselves, we used Permatex Ultra Blue, just because the car was blue....

I have not seen an answer posted yet, and I get why they have lights on some of the cars. But, why blue lights? And I saw when caution came out, they just started blinking. Even the green lights were...

Re: Saturday's Chili Bowl A&B Main Lock-ins (Spoiler Alert)

Then you would be racing pretty much the same people, against the same people. So, 4th through 10th on Thursday, now would all be lined up nose to tail on the inside of the second B-main. They all...

Re: 2018 Butler Speedway Schedule/News

Yup. No minimum weight rule either. They basically run late model rear tires, with no size options on the left rear.

Re: World Of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series 2018 Schedu

Has anyone seen the full purse for that event? Or is it gonna be like the indoor race at St. Louis where anyone who did not make the A-mains, get nothing? All I can find is the A-main pay-offs.

The pavement legends are lots of fun. I actually enjoyed the pavement street stocks, when I could run them. Now I am class A, and I can not even run them anymore.

I will have to look at more...

Re: I Racing

Winged sprint cars are a riot. You just have to be ready for some goofy set-up stuff. I win most of my 305 sprint stuff, and I am getting better with the 360 and 410. I usually qualify horrible, but...

Re: Iracing Non Winged Coming

Just saw a code to get IRacing for 3 months for $5.00. I guess there are always codes of some sort to keep the cost of the subscription down. Not really all that much tio begin with, but upfront it...
