Re: Tech question - Beadlock vs. Non-beadlock wheels

I don't run beadlocks on the front, but I do run a mud cover on both right side wheels. Lost a couple of feature races due to mud getting in my RF wheel, making it impossible to hold on the track.

Re: Question re: lapped cars to the tail

The frustrating thing about going a lap down is, like mentioned above: If you're running 15th and get lapped just before a caution, your still right behind the 14th place car, but it doesn't matter...

Re: Indoor midget race

It's sad that even as hard as Larry tries to promote the Rumble, the majority of people who aren't hard core racers in this three state area, are still oblivious to the event.

Re: ISO Broken Rear Axle

Our plans changed, and at this point we don't plan to be at Gas City on the 14th, but still plan to come down on the 21st.

Re: Drivers with glasses - question...

6565 Adam, the soap trick worked really well. I even tried breathing directly on them purposely, and although they fogged up just a little, it immediately went away. And Saturday was a hot muggy...

Re: ISO Broken Rear Axle

Do you race at Gas City Ron? I did send you a PM a while back, but we plan to be at Gas City next week. If you race there too we could just discuss it then.

Thanks!

ISO Broken Rear Axle

Looking for a bent, broke or messed up 2"-31t rear axle, if anyone has one in their scrap bin. Need about 4" of the spline next to the shoulder to be clean and straight.

Little 500 Question

I've always wanted to go, but never have. Watching qualifying, it appears that there are V6 powered cars in attendance. It also appears that one of the V6 cars may have won the pole. My question...

I use a 17" steering wheel. Problem solved...

That said, I'm sure it wouldn't be real hard to retrofit it to the input shaft of a Schroeder style box. This is a comment from another post on the...

Re: POLL: What do you do with used tires?

One of the upsides to running a Lightening Sprint, is that we use our tires for about half a season, then sell them to the low budget teams for $40 each. They get to use them a while, and I don't...

Re: Question For Engine Guys

I think you will find also that standing the valve up allows for a smaller combustion chamber, therefore higher compression with less piston dome.

Re: Lightning Sprint Question

All valid points, especially about the clean chain. Also, when you replace your chain, replace all your sprockets too. They have worn with the chain, and putting a new chain on old sprockets will...

Re: Mini sprint gearing

I have a shift light tach, and set the shift light 300 RPM below my rev limiter. If I don't see the light come on, I need more teeth on the rear sprocket. If I'm hitting the limiter, I need less. ...

Re: Mini sprint gearing

I run 13 x 51 in second gear at Montpelier, or 12.24 final. I also use 84" RR tires. If you run the 82" RR, you could get away with less gear.

Re: Sealing wheel halves

Clear silicone in a caulking gun is my go to. I generally smear a little between the halves before I assemble them, then run a bead around after they're together.

Re: Brad Loyet accident and how to safely mount tires

Just how much air pressure are people using to air tires? Doesn't seem to me like 10-15 lbs. would create that much havoc. Not like putting 120 lbs. in a semi tire.
