Re: Circle City Rocks

I second this about Sun Prairie. Been there well over 100 times, sat in a bunch of different spots and never took a rock. Some good sized lumps of clay - but those have some give, rocks don't.

Re: Red or yellow

If a car is on its side, the top of the cage could be exposed to traffic. That's not a good place to get hit, even at yellow flag speeds.

Re: Usac: Saturday night’s alright for turkey night! Ventura

Does anyone know - are the points awarded for this race the same as for any other race? Trying to figure out the different scenarios for Kofoid and Windom.

I read somewhere that it was going to be an afternoon race, but don't know any other details.

Re: Usac: Imw passing master is larson’s entering kokomo fin

Does anyone know why Kyle Larson is not listed in the USAC National midget point standings?

Re: generational question

This is and extremely astute observation and I think has a lot to do with it. In 1980 the Under 18 age group made up 28.1% of the population and the 45-64 group made up 19.6% (according to the U.S....

Re: USAC: CARB NIGHT CLASSIC CONTINUES USAC’s MEMORIAL DAY W

Also disappointed to see this up against Bloomington. Cuts a race out of our weekend. Decisions.

Bloomington Speedway Bloomington eats? sits?

Heading to Bloomington for the first time on Friday for the Burton Memorial. Any advice on where to grab a bite to eat before the race? Sit-down place but not fancy. A pizza, bbq, or burger place...

Re: 5 races in 4 days - 500 Week

Exactly my schedule, except I may add THAT on Wednesday night. Bloomington will be a first for me. I hear it's a "can't miss".

Re: ISW - Terre Haute & Lincoln Park 1st timer

I agree with Charles that the Turn 4 bleachers at THAT are great seats. But here's a tip - don't sit directly under one of the light poles.

Re: Your thoughts on this Sprint Car crash. Purpose or not?

When I wrote my comment that I thought this was just a racing deal, I had no idea who the two drivers involved were. I was just reacting to the video. I have to wonder though what influence it has...

Re: Your thoughts on this Sprint Car crash. Purpose or not?

It looks to me like the black car (#17) in front checked up pretty hard in the corner - the yellow car (#7?) closed on him real quick. Also - I watched it a whole bunch of times - it looks like the...

Re: bill gardner up date

I've never met or even conversed with Bill but I feel the loss all the same.

Stewart Scott recently said, "When you die, that does not mean that you lose to cancer. You beat cancer by how you...

Re: Car Colors

This is very well put. It more or less echoes my feelings and is the underlying reason I bring this up.

And thanks to everyone for chiming in. It's very enlightening.

Car Colors

This is probably insignificant in the whole scheme of things, but I attended the Pepsi Midget Nationals in Sun Prairie on Sunday night and it struck me that of the 25 cars in field, 16 of them were...

Re: Cheap shot Sammy

Regardless of what happened on the track to cause the incident, I thought it was weird the way they scored Sammy after he cut through the infield and let him keep his place in line. I think moving...

Re: NASCAR facing questions about its integrity?

A long time race fan said to me not long ago that NASCAR has become like WWE Wrestling. It's not about the racing anymore. It's about who is on probation? Who has been penalized? Who is cheating?...

Re: What track did you grow up going too?

What a great question. I learned what racing was at O'Hare Stadium in Chicago. I remember a hard-nosed promoter/operator whose nickname was "Ham", and a clown named "T-Bone" I think. Also went to...
