Made many USAC mains in the last few years running the same tire all night. The outliers are Lawrenceburg and Terre Haute where if you have a guy on the hammer you will blister a tire in the heat...

There have been times in recent years that USAC has teched tires at the scales after qualifying. The most notable night this happened was the night Brackett's tire failed after he set quick time.
