Re: Photo Identification

Re: rumor mill: THAT

You are likely correct in today's racing world. But back in the Don Smith/Bill Hill promotion days the Action Track ran just two USAC sprint car races and the Hut Hundred for midgets in a season. ...

Re: BC 39 Seating Chart

Which was a big mistake as far as I'm concerned. You end up spending much of the evening looking directly into the sun. There must have a been a good reason for the move but it doesn't seem to have...

Re: Usac: Hoosier hundred postponed to may 26 at irp

Now they have a chance to draw a really good crowd with all of the 500 fans in town. That's why the Indiana State Fairgrounds Hoosier Hundred was moved from the traditional September date to May...

Re: 26,843 Fans at 1942 Race

I didn't see it in the article but this was a CSRA (Central States Racing Association) race. AAA had dropped out of racing at the end of 1941 because of the war but other groups continued to race...

Re: Hoosier Hundred - New Home?

Silver Crown cars have clutches so push vehicles aren't needed. If they have any kind of competition break (a la NASCAR) it defeats the purpose of a hundred mile race which is what the entire series...

Re: Roll cages

USAC made cages mandatory on midgets and sprints starting with the 1971 season. Champ Dirt cars didn't make cages a requirement until 1972.

Re: Anyone else remember this or USAC pulling anything like

I believe this was a case of the regular USAC bunch not liking to get beat by some unknown while on one of their annual western summer tours.

I don't remember much but the Standley car was a...

Re: best guess

Re: State fair races in jeopardy?

Interesting in that there is no 100% vaccine for seasonal flu either. And although no one worries much about it the flu is every bit as deadly as the Wuhan Virus in numbers of deaths. Every year...
