Long story short sent a R1 starter out to be rebuilt when it came back it's turning the wrong direction.
How can this happen and what did they do wrong and how can I fix it ??

When I have repaired center sections I have made a custom sleeve for that from bearing bore.
Be sure to make sleeve .100 wall finished

If the rules let you run a dry sump DO IT It is cheap insurance against engine failure.
I can guarantee you that if dry sumps were legal with UMP or USMTS modifieds they all would have them.

I'm not parting out. This is a complete racing operation. All parts and pieces that I have will go with this car.

I would suggest you buy from a different supplier Lately a lot of arms and stops being made from 6061 than 2024 I've even seen some that are a casting. Look at the failure line to see if it's clean...
