Dad and I went to a sprint race at Salem in May, 1967. Sonny was driving the Iddings #93 and he was terrific on the high banks. The next day we went to the Speedway for practice and were sitting in...

Very few of these guys were still around by the time I started following USAC only eight years later. I do remember Gene Force still wheeling a sprint car at Paragon weekly shows as late as 1970. ...

These cold temperatures remind me of todays date January 19, 1985. Minus 52 degrees wind chill. When Dad and I got to the car after the race the battery was dead. A good hearted race fan gave us a...

I was surprised at this too. I think in recent years it actually went dark on Flo while it was on MAVTV. I would think that the ratings for the Chili Bowl live would be better than most of the...

I try to make all USAC races at Terre Haute. Not as many on the schedule as I would like. Interesting no IRP mentions. Guessing there were many of us back in the Thunder days.

Many of us old guys grew up with USAC racing on Sunday afternoons. I kind of miss those days especially the getting home before dark.

I wonder if the Sunday May 5th Rich Vogler race will be in the afternoon. I assume the date change was to finish the Eldora sprint car weekend.
