If helper spring has any load on it with 10" spring and not with 8" spring they are going to work and feel different.

If the springs are the same rate there should be no difference in feel.

Qwik Time Products in Ca. are making a nice manual steering unit which appears to be an updated replacement for the Schroeder box. I believe West Evans Motorsport is a dealer.

If it is a bladder tank you only need one on the outside between the tank shell and the top plate. The bladder itself becomes the seal to the inside of the shell.
