racing safety

why do quarter midgets even have cages.the kid driving hangs out the left side.do you think usac would let a sprint or midget driver race with their upper body hanging out the left side.at ft wayne several years ago a child was hurt when the quarter rolled onto its left side. my son is tall so we had an extension put on the top of the midget cage and several other guys did the same thing.when we got our maxim dans first question was how tall is your son.

Re: racing safety

My son started racing quarter midgets at age 11. It was a pain in the butt to get a seat in there but I was not letting him race without it. I was told we could not be competitive with a seat in the car. We proved them wrong. They shouldn't let those kids hang out of the car, it is unsafe. Any form of motorsports you move up into will have a seat. Rant over
