Stormy Night Fails to Meet Expectations of Gage Walker

By Jessica Jenkins

Friday the 13th often prompts the thought that something crazy is going to happen. And that is sort of what happened last weekend at Plymouth Speedway. As storms rolled in over the evening, the 25-lap feature was shortened to 24 when rain began to fall. It was a competitive night of racing and Gage Walker did his best on a night when the setup of his #7x midget was a bit off all night.

The 18 year old Indianapolis native started from the pole in the final heat race and finished third, placing him on the outside of row five for the Bob Newton Classic. He fought hard and held his own, winding up in ninth place when the race was brought to a close one lap early. It wasn’t the type of day Walker was looking to have, but they learned a little bit in preparation for the next time he returns to Plymouth.

Indiana Midget week is quickly approaching and you can plan on seeing this rising star at Montpelier Motor Speedway on Tuesday, May 31st all the way through Kokomo Speedway on Sunday, June 5th!
